Mary Schiewek

Mary Schiewek, 94, Garrison, formerly of Balfour and Minot, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at a Garrison hospital. Funeral services will be held at Weddle Funeral Service in Stayton, OR on Saturday, July 17 at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be at Fox Valley Cemetery in Lyon, OR.
Mary was born on July 30, 1915 at Balfour, ND to Peter and Rosina (Drexel) Mock. She was raised and educated in Minot, ND. On January 27, 1940 she married Max Barlow. Max died December 5, 1947.
Mary then married Ernest Schiewek, who was originally from the Ryder, ND area, on April 10, 1957. They made their home in Lyon, OR for many years. Ernest died in June of 1990.
Mary enjoyed flowers, crocheting, and was a big bingo fan. Mary was also a member of the Eagle’s Club.
Mary is survived by her sons, Walter E. (Barbara) Barlow, Garrison, ND, and Ervin (Karen) Barlow, Pleasant Hill, Oregon; stepdaughter, Linda Low, Spokane, WA; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers, Peter, Otto, and Carl Mock, sisters Elizabeth Hudson, Bertha Schiewek, Helen Heit, Ida Sabo and Clara Patterson.
