MEMORIES
My Mom
My mom was my best friend. She has always been here for me. She was a wonderful Mother and friend to me and my brother. She has been here in the best of times and the worst. She was never judgmental and saw the good in everyone who crossed her path. We enjoyed talking, shopping, decorating, playing cards and each other’s company. She was a great seamstress, decorator and baker. She was also the Queen of Scrabble. We will miss her company! We will miss her rolls, Swedish and German pancakes; sandbackkels, julekage fattigman and freezer jam among many others! We have lost our mender! We will miss her so much!
I remember when I first moved out of the house and I kept turning around to talk to her or comment on what we were watching on TV but I quickly realized that she was not there and I was in my apartment living on my own, I suppose her being gone now will be similar to that because I have already begun to realize that there will be a big empty spot in my heart. Words cannot express all of the things I will miss about my mom.
She loved her sisters, her children, her grand children, her nieces and nephews, her brother in laws, her neighbors and all of her wonderful friends from Salem Cardiology. She enjoyed visiting with her neighbor, Gracetta. She loved hanging out with Robin and Bill, Kat, Becky, Laura and many others who have been very dear to her.
I believe she is in heaven with Jesus now with her mom and daddy in heaven and she is at peace where there is no more sadness or pain. Although I am very sad that she is gone from us on earth, I know she is finally free from Cancer and I will see her on the other side.
Thank you to everyone who made my Mom’s last days on earth more comfortable, memorable and happy. She loved you all and I am so grateful you were here to keep her company and assist her during the last chapter of her earthly life.

Faith, Hope, Zoe: I cannot imagine losing a sister, let along going through the horror of the word cancer and its implications. I do know Sherrill is happy-she was a delight and a happy reminder of the confidence we find in Christ. Thank you all for sharing your memories and love with the rest of us. Sincerely, Jane Strom
I had the privilege of being a neighbor (6277) of Sherrill’s for the last several years. I want you to know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers during this time of loss and will continue to be in the days ahead. I feel so bad that I didn’t know that the cancer had returned, etc. I work all day and care every evening and some mornings for my parents, so since last summer I have not been home very much. I am very sorry about not having some contact with her in the last several months. I always appreciated our chats as we ran into each other outside and will miss her around here. We shared a faith in Christ, so I rejoice in knowing she is safe in heaven, her real home, and that we will chat again upon our Lord’s return. May God’s peace and comfort surround you as you adjust to life without your dear one.
Sincerely,
Becky Leithold
Sherrill was one of the sweetest women I ever met!! I became friends with her when I worked at Salem Cardiology. She was a true friend and mentor to me. I went to her place a couple of times to have dinner and sew together. We talked a lot! I loved her!!
I had just tried to touch base with her last week on Faceboook. I hadn’t heard that the cancer had returned. I learned of her passing today, and am so saddened.
To her family, I am so sorry for your loss! Cherish the dear memories and be thankful for them! I definitely am! She made the world a brighter place!!
Thank you so much for your notes about my Mom. I really appreciate your words of encouragement. I miss her so much and it is so nice to hear what people have to say about her.
