Cynthia J. Dunning, of Lyons, 86, passed away on July 17th.

Born at Middletown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of George and Ethel Achenbach.  She moved to California and was married to George William Dunning in 1967.

They moved to Salem in 1990 and to Lyons in 2009. She had worked in the clerical department for the civil service.  She enjoyed oil painting and reading.

George preceded her in death Jan. 23, 2010.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (her husband, Dana) Gibson of Mill City; 2 grandchildren; and 1 great grandson.

Interment will be private.

Frank Staponski formally of Independence, MO passed away on July 15 in Sublimity, OR. He was a man of strong convictions, subtle humor, mechanical skills, and common sense.

Frank was born on the family farm two miles south of Pierce City, MO in the Pulaskifield area to Frank Staponski and Julia (Younker)Staponski. From a young age he helped with the farm chores.
