Born in Hawthorne, California. He grew up in Montebello and graduated from Montebello high school. He then attended Cal State in LA and received his superintendant degree.
Doug was married to Shirley Muir on June 20, 1964 in Montebello and they lived in Monterey Park where he taught school. They moved to Oregon in 1965 having lived in St. Paul. Mehama–Violet Wagner, 96, passed away on Monday, February 22 at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland, OR. She was born on April 26, 1913 in Vancouver, WA. She spent much of her youth living on the coast in Oregon and nearly 60 years of her adult life on the farm she shared with her husband in Mehama, OR.
