<p>Robert Eugene Sheaffer passed away peacefully in Mt. <p>STAYTON –Loren was born at Flagler, Colorado on the 4th of Jan. 1921.  He passed away on Friday Aug. 6th at Salem.  He was 89. The son of Dana and Lois Strohmeyer.  Loren grew up in Colorado, then serving in the US Army during WWII as a Rifleman, spending much of the time behind enemy lines performing the job of forward observer locating the enemy and directing Big Gun fire. <p>Opal was born in Bristow, Oklahoma to William T. and Louella Belle Morgan.  She was the youngest of 17 children.  Opal worked at the Stayton Cannery, Paris Woolen Mill and Santiam Memorial Hospital for 19 yrs.  She enjoyed flowers and gardening and cooking.</p>
<p>Opal was preceded in death by her 16 brothers and sisters; her first husband, Delbus Whisenhunt in 1953; she married Benjamin Spenner in 1956 and he passed away in 1998; also a son, Raymond in 2002.</p>

<p>Mill City, OR—  Marlene Louise Budlong, a long-time resident of Mill City, passed away and went on to be with her Lord on Monday the 26th of July. She died of traumatic brain injury at Oregon Health &#38; Science University in Portland after a fall. </p>
<p>Born in 1933 in McMinnville, Marlene was the only daughter of Otis and Opal White.  She grew up with five brothers, with whom she remained close. She earned Salutatorian status at Detroit High School where her father was the Principal. She then attended Northwest Christian College in Eugene.</p>
