Mill City, OR—  Marlene Louise Budlong, a long-time resident of Mill City, passed away and went on to be with her Lord on Monday the 26th of July. She died of traumatic brain injury at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland after a fall. 

Born in 1933 in McMinnville, Marlene was the only daughter of Otis and Opal White.  She grew up with five brothers, with whom she remained close. She earned Salutatorian status at Detroit High School where her father was the Principal. She then attended Northwest Christian College in Eugene.

SUBLIMITY – With her family by her side, Barbara Carol Church passed away on July 24, 2010 after a two-year battle with cancer. Born on May 28, 1957, to Joseph and Cordelia Weber, she grew up one of eight children in Villa Park, Illinois. Upon graduation from Willowbrook High School in 1975, she enlisted in the U.S. Army, and was the first woman from the post in Ft. Riley, Kansas to be accepted by West Point Preparatory School. Salem–  Doris M. Travis, 65, passed away on Friday the 23rd at her home in Salem.

Born at Downey, CA, the daughter of Fred and Pearl Stilwell.

Graduate of Lynwood high school in Lynwood, CA.

She was married to Edwin Potter in May of 1966, he preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1984.

She had worked for the Dept. of Aviation as an office specialist before retiring.

She enjoyed reading and gardening.

She was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading the bible and attending bible classes.

She was also a 20 yrs.

Lorena was born in Cluny, Alberta, Canada.  She was the sixth oldest of fourteen children to George and Kathryn Fox ( 4 girls and 10 boys) in addition to 2 older half brothers and3 older half sisters.  Lorena lived in Alberta, Canada until she was 20 years old and then moved to Glendale, California where she got a job at the Voice of Prophecy.  She later met and married Lawrence Ashlyn in 1955.  They moved to Salem, Oregon and raised their family of four girls; Sharon, Lorrie, Darlene and Daphne.  Lorena
