VIRGIL
MELVIN “VIRGIL” BALES, 84, of Lebanon, passed away on May 11th. He was born Jan. 14, 1928 in Kenwood, Oklahoma. The son of Marion and Mary Bales. Melvin”Virgil” moved to Oregon in 1944. He was married to Hazel Roberson on June 26, 1948 in Salem and in they made their home in Lebanon in 1974. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for 40 years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making knives and gardening.
In addition to his beloved wife, Hazel of Lebanon, he is survived by his daughter, Loretta Barrett ; son, Marvin Bales; daughter, Karen Bales; sister Velma Easling; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tues, May 15th from Noon – 7:00 pm and Funeral service on Wed. May 16th at 1:00 both at Weddle Funeral Chapel. Graveside will be at Lone Oak Cemetery, Stayton.
